Dharwad Lok Sabha Constituency Witnesss 9.38 % Voter Turnout by 9 am
Dharwad: Polling commenced with fervor across 14 constituencies in North and Central Karnataka during Phase 3 of the Lok Sabha elections. A vibrant scene unfolded as voters queued up at various polling stations to exercise their democratic rights.
The spotlight fell on Kalaburagi, Koppal, Ballari, Chikkodi, Belagavi, Bagalkot, Vijayapura, Raichur, Bidar, Haveri, Dharwad, Uttara Kannada, Davangere, and Shivamogga. These constituencies, where the BJP clinched victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, witnessed robust participation despite the early hours.
By 9 am, voter turnout figures reflected the enthusiasm: Dharwad at 9.38%, Bagalkot at 8.59%, Belagavi at 9.48%, Ballari at 10.37%, Bidar at 8.90%, Vijayapura at 9.26%, Chikkodi at 10.81%, Davanagere at 9.11%, Kalaburgi at 8.71%, Haveri at 8.62%, Koppal at 8.79%, Raichur at 8.27%, Shivamogga at 11.39%, and Uttara Kannada at 11.07%.
Dharwad’s Deputy Commissioner Divya Prabhu and KHDC MD Mona Rawat set an example by voting early at KCD College’s polling booth. Meanwhile, former CM and BJP candidate for Haveri-Gadag Lok Sabha, Basavaraj Bommai, cast his ballot at a government school in Shiggaon.
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, accompanied by his family, exercised his franchise at Chinmayi Vidyalaya’s polling station, contributing to the democratic process with enthusiasm.
